Vinhos Verdes
Where the green tones of the vegetation predominate. It is the largest Portuguese demarcated area.
Recognized mainly for the ability to produce light and refreshing white wines that, together with its predominant color, gave rise to its name.
Features
The demarcated region of Vinhos Verdes has more than 34,000 hectares spread over a coastal region and is well located geographically. Very rich in hydrographic resources, with mild temperatures, small thermal amplitude and granitic and schist soils.
The dominant grape varieties are Alvarinho, Azal, Avesso, Loureiro, Pedernã and Trajadura.
