Features

Bairrada was one of the first regions in Portugal to produce sparkling wines and is still considered today as the most important region in the country in terms of the production of this type of wine.

The cool and humid climate and the clay-limestone and sandy soils favor its production, providing grapes with high acidity and low alcohol content, resulting in fresh, aromatic wines with an excellent taste.

The main grape varieties in the region are Baga, Maria Gomes, Bical, Arinto, Touriga Nacional, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
